The Louisville School District has implemented a new visitor management software system at each of its schools to track parents, volunteers, and visitors, providing a safer environment for students and staff.
The Raptor Visitor Management System requires school office personnel to scan the driver's license or state ID of all school visitors. The scan will check the information against the National Sex Offender database. Once an entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the person, date, and purpose of the visit.
The Raptor system only scans the visitor's name, date of birth and photo for comparison purposes. The system does not save any personal information. If the system raises a question about a visitor's background, the school administrator will take the necessary steps to ensure the appropriateness of each visit. This new security procedure will take approximately 30 seconds.
Please bring your driver's license or state-issued ID with you when you plan to visit a building during regular school hours. The Raptor System will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.
