Welcome to Louisville City Schools!

Last Updated: 8/18/2019 6:19 PM

The students of Louisville City Schools consistently bring positive recognition to our community through their many academic and extra-curricular achievements. For the past five years, Louisville City Schools have been rated "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education. Our individual schools have also earned many state and national recognitions, including the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award and the U.S. News & World Report's "Top High Schools in America" Silver Award.

We are proud of our well-rounded and rigorous curriculum, our safe and clean schools, our highly competitive extra-curricular programs, and our professional staff. The school district enjoys the support of our community and we continue to encourage parents and community members to be a vital part of our schools.

The Louisville City School District serves approximately 2,900 students in the city of Louisville, Ohio and the surrounding Nimishillen Township. The district is comprised of four school buildings which were newly constructed or completely remodeled since 2004. North Nimishillen Elementary houses our pre-school programs and about half of the K-2 students in the district. Louisville Elementary serves the remaining K-2 students and all of grades three, four and five. Louisville Middle School, grades 6-8, and Louisville High School, grades 9-12, share an expansive campus with many sports facilities on site.

Dear Louisville Families,
As superintendent of Louisville City Schools, I look forward to welcoming the nearly 2,900 students who enter our schools every year! Whether it is in a classroom setting, a club, activity, music or drama performance, athletic competition, or any other school activity, Louisville Schools has opportunities for children to grow and thrive. Each child brings to school a unique set of gifts to share. We value each one and will work to ensure that each child grows and develops into an independent learner. Louisville is an excellent school system with an outstanding faculty, a wonderful student body, and a community that values high-quality education. We take great pride in our achievements and are proud of the services and opportunities we provide to each and every one of our students!
