Garry Tausch New Principal of LHS Garry Tausch

Louisville alum Garry Tausch has been named principal of Louisville High School, replacing Ken Faye, who is retiring in July. 

Tausch is currently the principal of Washington Elementary School in the Marlington School District.  His 25 years of experience in education has been spent primarily in Louisville Schools, previously teaching seventh grade Social Studies/ELA and serving as athletic director at Louisville Middle School. Tausch graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Akron, obtained his first M.A. in Curriculum Instruction, and earned his second M.A. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago. He and his wife, Michele, have two children, Stone and Brynn. Welcome, Mr. Tausch!

LHS Named US News “Best High School” high school

Louisville High School was named a Best High School by U.S. News & World Report! The award places Louisville among the top high schools in the state of Ohio. This is the seventh straight year the high school has achieved this prestigious recognition.

Facial Coverings

On May 17, 2021, the Ohio Department of Health announced effective at 12:01 AM on June 2 nearly all state health orders related to COVID-19 are being rescinded, including no longer requiring facial coverings or social distancing for fully vaccinated individuals. Therefore, facial coverings will be optional on Lousiville City School District buildings and grounds effective June 2, 2021. (

The Lousiville City School District appreciates the cooperation of parents, students, and staff during this school year. We look forward to seeing our students on our campus for planned summer events and camps.

We will continue to communicate and update our parents throughout the summer regarding the 2021-2022 school year.
